HUMANELY HANDLED

Stress. No one likes it—including the sheep. That’s why at Lake Country Lambs we try to minimize the amount of stress on our sheep at every stage of their lives.

Katahdin sheep are “hair” sheep that do not produce any wool. This means they do not need the added disturbance of sheering or tail docking. With very few lambing problems and lambs that wean themselves, we rarely have to impede lamb relationships.

Although we interfere with the sheep as little as possible, we love spending time with our lambs to ensure they are comfortable with us if we need to handle them.
